Women?s Soccer (CCAA ranking: No. 8) ? The Heat finished the season regular season very strong, winning five of their last six games and will head into the playoffs having not lost a game since their first league match on Sep 8 versus Kwantlen.

The final league record of 7W-1L-6T earned the Heat the second seed in the PACWEST provincial championship and landed the team in the semi-final versus the home team, Quest.

Quest was able to defeat Kwantlen 3-0 on the last day of the season to secure a berth into the championships in a play or go home game in Squamish on Sunday. With the win on the final day Quest?s final record was 7W-5L-2T.

The semi-final match between the home Quest University Kermodes and the two-seed UBC Okanagan team will be the first game of the championships and will get underway on Friday, at 4:30 p.m., and www.sportscanada.tv will stream live video footage of the PACWEST provincial championships.

Women?s Volleyball (Canada West ranking: No. 8)? It?s been eight months since the Heat?s last regular season Canada West volleyball game, and due to a quirk in the schedule their foes are the same as they were back in that last game played in February.

Friday night in Kamloops the Heat will begin their second season in Canada West and look to better the 6-14 mark from a year ago, when they face the Thompson Rivers WolfPack at the Tournament Capital Centre.

The interior of BC rivals will hit the court at TRU at 6 p.m. for the Canada West league opener.

The two teams will travel down Highway 97 and meet for the second and final time in league play when the Heat host their home opener Saturday night.

Game Two of the home and home series between these rivals will commence at 5 p.m. on UBC?s Okanagan campus. Live webcasts of both Friday and Saturday?s matches will be on www.canadawest.tv

Men?s Volleyball (Canada West ranking: No. 8)? The UBC Okanagan men?s volleyball team will try and better a wildly successful first year in Canada West in which the first year program earned a playoff berth, starting on Friday when they play the Thompson Rivers WolfPack in Kamloops in their league opener.

The Friday night match will follow the women?s bout and will start at 8 p.m. at the Tournament Capital Centre in Kamloops.

The same two teams will do it again Saturday night in Kelowna at 7 p.m. for the UBC Okanagan home opener.

Live webcasts of both Friday and Saturday?s matches will be on www.canadawest.tv

Men?s Rugby ? This weekend will mark the second annual Hindson Cup, an invitational rugby tournament named in honour of Canadian and Okanagan rugby legend Ro Hindson, a member of the BC Rugby Hall of Fame.

The Cup will be a one day tournament with three games for UBC Okanagan. The first two games for the Heat will be at 11 a.m. versus Mount Royal and then immediately following the Heat will play Washington State University. The morning games will be shortened in length to accommodate all of the teams. The preliminary part of the Cup will be played at the Parkinson Fields.

The top two teams from the morning will match up in the Cup final at 3:20 p.m. in the Apple Bowl, while the consolation will be played on the Apple Bowl just prior to the final, starting at 2:30 p.m.

Cross Country (CCAA ranking: Women No. 3, Men No. 10) ? The Provincial Cross Country Championships will act as the unofficial PACWEST championship race. The women will run a six kilometre course that starts at 2:30 p.m., and the men run 10 kilometres starting at 3 p.m. Results and info can be found here: http://www.bcathletics.org/main/xcchamps.htm.
