Apple spits out Android option from Chomp app navigator
It's taken a bit longer than we expected, but following Apple's acquisition of app search engine Chomp, the Android option has now been cut out from its homepage. We're now left with the choice between iPhone and iPad categories, alongside existing shortcuts for popular freebies and apps on sale, in a few efforts to cut through Cupertino's 600,000-strong app selection. Hit up the source to give it a run for yourself.

Meghan McCain Rips Greta Van Susteren For Lindsay Lohan White House Dinner Invite
Meghan McCain is bashing Fox News' Greta Van Susteren on Twitter for inviting Lindsay Lohan to this weekend's White House Correspondents' Association dinner.
Not just for the sake of hating on Lohan, a la Rosie O'Donnell.
“Let me get this straight,” Meghan McCain, 27, tweeted. “Greta Van Susteren is bringing Lindsay Lohan to the WHC Dinner but has a moral offense to Louie C.K?”
In March, Van Susteren called for a boycott of the Radio/TV Correspondence Dinner over comedian C.K.'s past controversial statements about women.
"The headliner of this year’s Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner is “comedian” Louis C.K. Comedian? I don’t think so. Pig? yes," she wrote.
"He uses filthy language about women. Yes, the C word…and yes, even to describe a woman candidate for Vice President of the United States. It isn’t just Governor Palin he denigrates. He denigrates all women and looks to the crowd to laugh."
Apparently Megs isn't offended ... except by Greta. The daughter of U.S. Sen. John McCain may not be crazy about Lindsay attending, but she's still going.
The Republican blogger, columnist and author Tweeted that she's "headed to DC for the nerd prom." Just hope they don't seat her with Greta or LiLo.

Looking For Quality Mountain Bike Gloves To Buy
Many mountain bikers choose to wear biking gloves especially if their rides are very intense which mountain rides tend to be. There is a huge selection of different types out there ranging from pretty cheap to quite expensive. But no matter, let me assure you that there are mountain bike gloves that fit your budget, style and preferences. Really you should have little problem being able to buy the right gloves to meet your needs.
That said there are some bikers who prefer not to wear gloves. Personally I don?t understand how they can but after years of riding their hands become accustomed to the abuse, and they form calluses.
But there are many advantages to wearing gloves.
One of them is they give a lot better grip. When your hands get sweaty they tend to slide all over the place even with good grips on the hand bars.
Some gloves come with the palm surface populated with dots of rubber in all the right places so that they not only provide an extremely positive strong grip but they also allow for good sensitive braking and shifting. Be careful though because if they aren?t quality gloves the rubber dots can rub off fairly quickly especially if you are using them on tight trials where there are a lot of tight turns and you?re gripping very tightly to make all the turns. One of the things you want to look for in a glove is how the seams are made. You want the seams to be made so that they don?t dig into your skin and cause irritation during or after a long ride. You also want gloves that will stay on your hands rain or shine, providing the same great grip throughout.
They usually stretch a bit as they get wet from sweat or rain but you don?t want them getting to the point of becoming loose. Some gloves also come with a surface on the back for you to wipe the sweat for your face. This is often very helpful on those long rides in the middle of summer.
You definitely want glove that will stand up to the abuse they get along the trail. Some say that Dirt Paws make some of the best gloves.
One person said about them ?I have used these gloves on hundreds of rides and have washed them each time. I have bought other gloves that have failed after only 2-3 rides and so have gone back to these ones. If your gloves move around on your hands then you have the wrong size. I just ordered some different colored ones in my size so I had gloves to wear no matter what. They certainly are the best gloves I personally have come across.?
No matter which brand of cycling gloves you buy you need to be sure that you take good care of them. After each ride your gloves are going to be a breeding ground for bacteria. It?s because of the sweat, and maybe even the stuff you wipe from your nose not to mention the surfaces you touch. So you need to care for them. Besides wearing clean washed gloves just feels a whole lot nicer and helps make them last longer.
When buying mountain bike gloves you don?t have to spend an arm and a leg but you do need to look for quality gloves and then you won?t have to be replacing them every time you turn around.

Nokia releases Browser 2.0 update for Series 40 handsets with improved speed, multitasking in tow
Nokia announced earlier today the release of Browser 2.0 for its Series 40 devices, which of course includes the colorful Asha lineup. The update promises an overall speedier and easier browsing experience, this in large part due to the application condensing data by up to 90 percent. In addition to these enhancements, there's also a novel Download Manager in the refresh, giving users the ability to choose where they'd like to save content without leaving the app. Also included in the update is a new multitasking-while-browsing feature (finally!), as well as a social-sharing bit that lets you push out page URLs to sites like Twitter, Facebook, Sina Weibo and RenRen. Browser 2.0 will be native on future Series 40s, but for now those whom already own a small chunk of the 1.5 billion can grab the goods from the Nokia Store or wait for the OTA package to hit your device.

WPC updates Qi standard, increases inductive charging distance to 40mm
It seems that Power Matt just got a bit more, er, powerful. The Wireless Power Consortium announced today that it's improved the Qi inductive-charging standard to "include longer range magnetic resonance wireless charging." Effectively, this means charging stations that are up to spec will be able to transmit up to 5 watts of power from distances of 40mm (up from 5mm, previously) to Qi-enabled devices. The WPC says it's ideal for pushing power through the likes tables and counter tops, and that it currently has 12 types of compatible transmitters ready for action. All in all, it certainly seems like a solid step for finally getting rid of all that cable clutter at your workstation -- especially if it'll rid users of those less-than-pretty looking charging bases. Maybe a last-minute add-on to your Uppleva, IKEA?

Succession planning, operations management, and strategic planning, are among the most important factors of a family business.
A study done at Hong Kong University reported that if succession planning is not attended to in a family business, its impact can be devastating.
In order for a succession plan to be effective, it has to be well planned and implemented in a timely way.??Succession planning should begin when there is plenty of time to get next generation leaders ready for their new roles. Unfortunately, many fail to plan and wait until a crisis arrives. Planning for next generation leadership should be a top priority for any family business whose leaders want their legacy to continue in future generations.Continuity?s expertise in managing conflict when the continuing relationships are important is a crucial element of our succession planning work.

6 More Tips To Help You Eliminate Debt for Good!
Thomas Edison said, ?There is no substitute for hard work.? ??It?s so simple, but so true; and so fitting for the topic of debt reduction.? There is no magic solution or easy way out.? But while there?s no denying it?s a painful process, anyone can do it with commitment, discipline, and patience.? And if you?re going to put in that much effort, you had better make sure you do it right?which means making sure it never happens again!
First, a Warning:
You?ve no doubt seen the advertisements and websites out there for ?Debt Consolidation? and ?Debt Management? companies.? Both types of companies should be considered last resorts.? Here?s why:
- Debt Consolidation ? These companies take your credit cards and loans and consolidate them into one loan; often with a payment lower than your previous combined total.? The problem, however, is that in order to lower the payment, the term of your loan had to be extended; so you?re only prolonging your indebtedness.? Further, these companies are in business for a reason?they?re making money off of you!? Their profit is built into the new consolidated loan and you wind up paying more in total payments than what you originally owed.
- Debt Management ? These are the credit counseling services you hear about.? Basically, you pay them a monthly lump sum and they take over the job of paying your bills for you.? Often, they negotiate more favorable terms on your behalf as well.? So what?s the catch?? While your score itself is not affected, your credit report will now show your accounts as being managed by a debt counseling service.? Speaking as a former underwriter, this does not go unnoticed!
In addition to the problems mentioned above, the real flaw in these systems is that they don?t tackle the underlying problem; what likely got you in this mess to begin with:? bad financial habits!
Do-It-Yourself
Here are some basic steps to take toward eliminating the debt yourself and developing good (permanent) financial habits in the process:
- Create a budget.? Use one of the many free tools available, or create your own on a spreadsheet.? The point is to assign every dollar of your paycheck to a category.
- Review your budget and make some tough decisions on what can go.? Be ruthless, debt elimination is not for the faint of heart!
- Carve out the monthly amount you will devote to debt elimination.? Make this one of your fixed expenses to be paid immediately after you receive your paycheck.
- Stop spending.? If you have to, shred your debit card and only use cash. Definitely shred all your credit cards except one (preferably the one with the lowest rate) for emergencies.
- Try to lower your payments.? Explore the possibility of refinancing your home and/or car and call your credit card companies and ask for a lower rate (always worth a shot!)
- Inventory your ?bad? debts.? This is pretty much any debt besides your mortgage, which has tax advantages and is secured by an appreciating asset.? List everything on a spreadsheet, including the minimum payment for each, then prioritize them.
- It?s generally best to prioritize in order from highest to lowest interest rate.
- An alternative way for prioritizing is the Dave Ramsey ?snowball? method, where the order is smaller balances to higher balances.? The theory is that the gratification you get from achieving small goals early on makes you more likely to stick with the program long-term.
- Set your payment schedule.? Take your amount from step 1b and divvy it up.? Cover only the minimum payment on all the non-priority debts; everything else goes to the debt at the top of the list.? Tackle one debt at a time using this system.
- Consider additional sources of income.? This could include selling assets or other side jobs.? Any additional income goes straight to the debt currently in the top priority position.
Do whatever it takes to keep your eye on the prize?imagine the feeling of accomplishment when you?re debt free and you know you did it yourself!? Not only did you eliminate your debt, you also acquired lifelong healthy financial habits.? And don?t forget the icing on the cake:? your shiny new credit score!

Ivy Bridge-packing HP EliteBook gets reviewed, scores well in early tests
Hear that? That, friends, is the sound of someone in Intel's PR department banging his head against a desk. Though we've read more than a few rumors about the company's forthcoming Ivy Bridge chips, Intel has steadfastly declined to share many official details, and has controlled the flow of information so tightly that laptop makers won't even use the words Ivy Bridge when talking about upcoming systems. (It's always "next-generation Intel Core processors," but we digress.) So it's a pleasant surprise, then, to see a review of an Ivy Bridge system before Intel even makes its official announcement. Laptop Reviews has apparently been testing a yet-to-be-announced HP EliteBook 8470p with an unspecified Core i7 processor, integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics, 8GB of RAM and an Intel 320 solid-state drive.
Though the testing team doesn't have much to say about battery life, the raw performance scores are quite impressive, surpassing those belonging to heavy hitters like the HP Envy 17 and Lenovo ThinkPad W520 workstation. Then again, Laptop Reviews is quick to admit that that SSD may have helped boost scores beyond what you'd see in an Ivy Bridge system with a good old-fashioned hard drive. On the graphics side, too, the spankin' new HD 4000 provides a nice (read: several-thousand-point) boost over systems running HD 3000, though we'll have to wait a little longer for real-world gaming tests, it seems. That's the abridged version, but we encourage you to hit up the source link for some more detailed remarks, along with comparisons to other systems.
